Thor 350 t

Thor is a state-of-the-art modular land drilling rig designed initially for the European market with a fast-move design. Its box-on-box substructure allows efficient transport using standard trucks, reducing rig move times and pad construction costs with its compact 40 x 55-meter footprint, which also helps minimize environmental impact to the surrounding area.

The substructure consists of four sub-boxes and three drill floor parts, housing noise-emitting components like the hydraulic power unit to improve operational efficiency. Integrated drilling equipment remains installed and connected during transport, streamlining relocation.

In Iceland, Thor harnesses the immense power of local geothermal energy, operating with near-zero carbon emissions. By eliminating reliance on fossil fuels, it significantly reduces CO₂ output and noise pollution, reinforcing geothermal energy as a clean, sustainable, and future-ready resource. This commitment to renewable power ensures a greener, quieter, and more efficient drilling operation, setting a benchmark for eco-friendly energy solutions.
